One Principal’s Philosophy:
Every Child Can Learn
A student’s journey to successful learning begins with the
leadership of a principal. At Campbell Middle School Vickie Presley
believes that “a true leader must be committed to their profession,
they must strive to grow professionally, and they must learn and
learn and learn.” Her leadership and commitment to the students
and faculty at Campbell have helped the school improve.
Here is her philosophy:
“Every child can learn. As a leader, one must be the impetus
to provide the necessary tools to help children feel that they
have the capability to achieve whatever they desire. Children are
designed for accomplishment at birth; they are engineered for success
through our efforts as educators and leaders; and they are endowed
with the seeds of greatness through the collaborative educational
efforts of parents, schools, communities, and society.
“Children must be challenged to reach their fullest potential
and motivated to exemplify their knowledge and abilities, which
will enable them to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
A strong instructional leader must spend adequate time in the classrooms
monitoring student performance and coaching instructional staff
to insure a curricular program that will increase student outcomes.”
In this fast paced technological world, where excellence must
be the standard, Ms. Presley is striving to see that thirst for
knowledge and innovative ideas are continuous. Every day, a leader,
the cornerstone of a school’s success and improvement, must
demand excellence, instill a sense of mission, and infuse an enthusiasm
for all students and their ability to excel among the staff. Ms.
Presley’s attitude is already beginning to make a difference.
