Leon County Adult High School Credit Program
Tallahassee, Florida

Suhaib Ahmad
Student, Tallahassee Community College

Not all students go down the traditional high school path to receive a high school diploma. The Adult High School Credit Program includes courses designed for students to obtain the necessary credits for the completion of secondary requirements.

Suhaib Ahmad came to the Adult and Community Education Center for FCAT remediation. Instruction through Adult High School Credit Program is designed to accommodate the needs of students requiring instruction in more than one high school subject area. Students must successfully complete these courses and earn passing scores on the FCAT to qualify for a high school diploma. Suhaib enrolled in their FCAT Review class, and successfully passed the exam.

After mastering the fundamental skills needed to graduate. Suhaib was awarded a Leon County Schools Adult and Community Education high school diploma, and was faced with the choice of advancing in education or using these learned skills to find a job. Suhaib decided to maximize his potential in education and has enrolled in Tallahassee Community College.
