Elimination of the FCAT Parent Network

The FCAT Parent Network was eliminated from the K-12 assessment program due to budget reductions. Individual Score Reports of students’ FCAT results will continue to be mailed to school districts as soon as they are available. Please contact your student’s school for information on how to retrieve his or her FCAT results.

FCAT Web Site

Go to the FCAT home page and click on Students and Parents. There you will find:

  • Released FCAT tests and sample test books with answer keys that will help your student become familiar with the test’s format
  • FCAT fact sheets and answers to frequently asked questions about the test
  • Publications that assist parents with understanding policies related to the FCAT
  • Publications that assist parents with understanding student FCAT results
  • Publications regarding the FCAT that are translated into Spanish and Haitian Creole

FCAT Explorer

FCAT Explorer offers FCAT practice activities for students and valuable information to help parents understand the FCAT. From the FCAT Explorer homepage, you can access the Parent & Family Guide to find:

  • Detailed guides for using FCAT Explorer programs
  • Information regarding specific benchmarks
  • Everyday activities for you and your child that supplement the programs
  • Specific Sunshine State Standards, mentoring resources, and success strategies

Just Read, Florida!

The Just Read, Florida! Web site provides information and activities to improve reading skills and foster a love of books in Florida’s children. Visit this site to find:

  • Current events, including summer reading and tax-free book initiatives
  • The Parents page, with at-home reading activities, recommended reading lists, specific reading tips, and reading programs
  • Just Read, Families!, a program facilitating reading for parents and children
  • Other reading resources for parents, including age-appropriate reading tips and downloadable lessons and activities
